DETERMINING THE CORRECT "TRANSOM SAVER"

(#1) Hitch trailer, with boat on it, to tow vehicle and place on flat surface.

(#2) Raise motor, with power trim or settings, so the bottom of lower unit is 12" to 16" off the ground.

(#3) Choose between "Roller Mount" or "Frame Mount" models.

(#4) Now determine if a straight line can be drawn from under the cavitation plate on the lower unit to the back roller / or under the back cross member were the mount bracket would be. If this can be done with ample clearance of not hitting the boat, you can use a straight tube model, if not then a formed center tube model is needed.

(#5) Now measure between those two (2) points, under the cavitation plate to the rear roller or underside of rear trailer cross member to determine the length needed for "Transom Saver" to chose correct model. NOTE: always allow for a plus or minus of a couple inches when choosing proper model.

(#6) Use the power trim for a SLIGHT down pressure on the installed "Transom Saver". NOTE: Power trim is NEEDED on "Roller Mount" models!!
